On 1 August 1944, punctually at 5 p.m., Warsaw became the arena of the heroic struggle of its inhabitants against the Nazi occupant. The Warsaw Uprising, which lasted 63 days, remains one of the most dramatic and at the same time symbolic events in the history of Poland in the 20th century.
In tribute to the heroes of the Warsaw Uprising - a unique exhibition at the Warsaw Gasworks Museum

On the eve of the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising, the Warsaw Gasworks Museum, in cooperation with the Warsaw 1944 Association, is proud to invite you to view an exhibition commemorating this independence event.

The exhibition will be open to the public from 30 July to 25 August.

The exhibition is a profound expression of remembrance and respect for the heroes of August 1944 - Home Army soldiers, scouts, nurses and civilians who faced the occupying forces with courage and sacrifice. The exhibition not only recalls the dramatic fate of the fighting capital, but also inspires reflection on timeless values such as freedom, patriotism and national identity.

We invite all those interested in the history of Warsaw and those who wish to pay tribute to the participants of the Warsaw Uprising.
