Join us for the next event in our ‘Meet the Traveller’ series – this time focusing on Zanzibar and Swahili culture.

An isaland where the influences of Africa, Arabia, Persia and India have intersected for centuries. A place that, over the centuries, has forged its own unique world from a blend of languages, beliefs, flavours and music.

Beata Lewandowska-Kaftan – traveller, author and winner of the Magellan Award for her book Zanzibar – Treasure Island. Stories from the Swahili World – will talk about this cultural mosaic. She has been travelling around Africa for over 20 years.
