‘In a favourable light’ – Exhibition by the Mazovian Branch of the Association of Visual Artists

Publication date: 06.03.2026
In the past, artists would go out into the streets at dusk to see the world in a new light. Shadows lengthened, street lamps cast warm reflections, and familiar forms took on new colours and moods, inspiring experimentation with colour and form.
‘In a favourable light’ – Exhibition by the Mazovian Branch of the Association of Visual Artists

On 6 March at 6 p.m., the Mazovian Branch of the Association of Visual Artists held the opening of an exhibition entitled ‘In a Good Light’.

Contemporary art lit up the space of the former gasworks, where municipal lighting was once produced. Artists presented oil and acrylic paintings, watercolours, collages, photographs and works in their own techniques, including combining metalwork with ceramics.

The theme of the exhibition is light – from subtle rays that shape form to explosions of colour pulsating on canvases and objects. Light has been an inspiration for centuries: it brings out colours, creates moods and guides the artist's hand. In this exhibition, it becomes the protagonist, the theme and the tool – sometimes delicate, sometimes dramatic, but always fascinating.

The exhibition will be on display until 28 March 2026.
