Meeting with Piotr Strzeżysz at the Warsaw Gasworks Museum

On 4 September at 6 p.m., the Warsaw Gasworks Museum will host a meeting with traveller and writer Piotr Strzeżysz. Admission is free.

Piotr Strzeżysz is a renowned author and experienced cyclist who has been exploring the world for years, choosing routes far from the beaten tourist tracks. During the meeting at the Warsaw Gasworks Museum, he will talk about his latest expedition, which began in his hometown of Huta Czechy. The route led through Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria, and then through Turkey, Iran, Pakistan and India.

The traveller particularly remembers the extraordinary hospitality of the people of Iran and the challenging conditions in Pakistan, where he was often accompanied by a police escort. The highlight of his journey was his expedition to the Himalayas – Strzeżysz was the first Pole to cycle over the highest pass in the world, Umling La (5,882 m above sea level).

The meeting at the Warsaw Gasworks Museum is not only an opportunity to listen to the traveller's colourful stories, but also a chance to see unique photographs and feel the atmosphere of places rarely visited by ordinary tourists.
